THE ZONE​

Através deste projeto, procurei evidenciar a oposição entre dois espaços e realidades, e, ao mesmo tempo, o modo como os elementos arquitectónicos acabam por se dissimular na paisagem. Estamos, desta forma, perante lugares abióticos, no sentido em que a própria natureza atrofia a sua própria forma e presença quando exposta à indústria. Existem formas de vida latentes a ambos os elementos desta relação, quer através da ausência algo fantasmagórica do ser humano, quer através desse tal atrofio da flora e fauna. Se, por um lado, estas máximas são imanentes ao espaço físico, a dissimulação das estruturas e o nivelamento do antagonismo natural-industrial são, em contrapartida, o resultado de uma manipulação fotográfica.

Through this project, I sought to highlight the contrast between two spaces and realities, and, at the same time, the way in which the architectural elements end up dissimulating themselves in the landscape. We will thus be faced with abiotic places, in the sense that nature itself atrophies its own form and presence when exposed to industry. There are latent forms of life to both elements of this relationship, either through the somewhat ghostly absence of the human being, or through such an atrophy of flora and fauna of each one of the "zones". If, on the one hand, these maxims are immanent to the physical space, the dissimulation of the structures and the leveling of the natural-industrial antagonism are, on the other hand, the result of a photographic manipulation.
